Daily Devotions

Today's Scripture: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:34-35, ESV   

Theme: Work on loving each other. It sounds easy, but it can be difficult!  

Today’s Scripture: “I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.” 1 Corinthians 1:10, ESV 

Theme: Focus on unity in the Church before disagreements outside of it. 

Today's Scripture: “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:8, ESV

Theme: Look for the good in this season, in your extended family, across party lines, in other communities, and in your neighbors – no matter their beliefs or politics.

Today's Scripture: “Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.” Proverbs 14:29, ESV

Theme: Don’t let things like political talk get to you. Cool your temper, slow down and cultivate understanding.

Today’s Scripture: “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3, ESV

Theme: Keep your mind focused on God, really trust Him, and you won’t over-worry or overreact.
