Wednesday - A TIME TO SERVE

Today's Scripture: “Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.” John 13:5, ESV 

Theme: During the Christmas season, we can bless and serve others as Jesus did when He knelt to wash the disciples’ feet, including Judas’ traitorous feet.

Tuesday - ENCOUNTERING JESUS

Today’s Scripture: “And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, ‘You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.’” Matthew 19:21, ESV 

Theme: When we want to follow Jesus, He may not ask us to give away all we have, but He does require us to accept a position as a servant in His kingdom.

Monday - COME TO JESUS LIKE A CHILD

Today’s Scripture: “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.” Mark 10:14b, ESV 

Theme: Though we omit those of low status as we form our Christmas schedules and plans, Jesus made time in His schedule for children and “the least of these” and prioritized them.

Friday - DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR?

Today’s Scripture: “I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.” John 10:14-15, ESV 

Theme: Amid the hustle that comes with the Christmas season, learn to slow down and know the Good Shepherd. He already knows you, loves you, and has laid His life down for you.
