Daily Devotions

Today's Scripture: “Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness.” 2 Timothy 2:23-25a, ESV 

Theme: Our focus should be on unity and gentleness rather than issues that divide us. 

Today’s Scripture: “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.” Matthew 7:24-25, ESV 

Theme: Build your life on “the Rock,” not temporary, worldly concerns. When trouble comes, you will not be shaken.  

Today's Scripture: “Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.” I Peter 2:17, ESV  

Theme: Pray faithfully and allow prayer to change the way that you speak.

Today’s Scripture: “Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.” 1 Peter 2:13-14, ESV 

Theme: Honor God by honoring your leaders and remember that He is in control regardless of who is in charge.  

Today’s Scripture: “For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.” 1 Peter 2:15-16, ESV 

Theme: Focus on living with godliness and trust God to work in people’s hearts.
