Daily Devotions

Today's Scripture: “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? .... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:31,37, ESV  

Theme: God fights for us; His love conquers all things.  

Today’s Scripture: “For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’” Romans 8:15, ESV 

Theme: Do not fear – you are beloved children delivered from sin, not conscripted slaves to it. 

Today's Scripture: “For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.” Romans 8:6, ESV   

Theme: Our focus matters. The way to life and peace is to focus on nurturing the Holy Spirit inside me, not on myself.   

Today’s Scripture: “For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.... For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out.” Romans 7:15,18, ESV  

Theme: I don’t get it. I want to do the right thing, but I just keep messing up. 

Today’s Scripture: “But sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. For apart from the law, sin lies dead.” Romans 7:8, ESV 

Theme: Finally seeing wrong for what it is, because of the clear commands from God, all humanity can understand how lost we are without Jesus.
