Magnify Week 1

We start off a brand-new series this week called Magnify. Many times, in life when things are going well, we have all we need, and extra in the bank we tend to forget about God and trust these things. This is what happened to the Israelites in the Old Testament. They had been wandering around the desert for 40 years, having to trust God completely for their daily needs. As they are about to enter the promised land, flowing with milk and honey, they are reminded to be careful to not forget their God.

When in Romans - Week 6

Well friends, you did it! You read the whole book of Romans. As we conclude our discussion with the last two chapters, we see the Jews and Gentiles arguing. The Jews continued to uphold their laws, while the Gentiles argued that these laws no longer applied. These types of disputes can cause division in our homes, relationships, and the Church. Paul speaks to the Jews and Gentiles over these disputable matters.

Paul provides us with practical guidance for living out our faith-encouraging us to use our gifts for God and others, how we deal with authority, and pursue peace with one another.

Romans chapters 9-11 is the next stop on our adventure in this series. Paul addresses the conflicts between the Jews and Gentiles, focusing on issues of entitlement and disagreements over the right way to do things. Romans can be intense and hard to understand, but God knows our hearts. Be honest with God about your thoughts, feelings, and struggles to understand as you read His Word. Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and guidance. We can be thankful that we serve a God that is bigger than us, wiser, and knows all things.

Movies at the Cove - Week 4

In a world filled with hate, bitterness, and chaos, there is still something bigger that has the power to change us. That is the love of Jesus Christ! His love can change lives and unite people even in chaos. This weekend we watched a movie called Woodlawn. A true story about a football team in Birmingham Alabama in 1973, when racial tension was at an all-time high. When one man dared to share the love of Christ, it showed the power of love and brought the miracle of unity.
