Daily Devotions

Today’s Scripture: “And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.” Luke 2:6-7, ESV 

Theme: Regardless of your Christmas setting, we can celebrate that Jesus has walked in our shoes. God is with us! 

Today's Scripture: “Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, ‘Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.’” Matthew 2:1-2, ESV  

Theme: Just as God provided signs for the Wise Men, God has given us signs to allow us to know Him personally.  

Today’s Scripture: “And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear.”  Luke 2:8-9, ESV 

Theme: Like us, the frightened, unsuspecting shepherds were invited to know Jesus and to tell the world about Him. 

Today's Scripture: “‘Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.’” Matthew 7:21, ESV   

Theme: God is Master of our actions, not only our words.  

Today’s Scripture: “And he said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’” Job 28:28, ESV 

Theme: God is Master of all knowledge and wisdom.
