Daily Devotions

Today's Scripture: “And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen shroud and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut in the rock. And he rolled a great stone to the entrance of the tomb and went away.” Matthew 29:59-60, ESV 

Theme: Make no mistake, Jesus was both dead and buried. 

Today’s Scripture: “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?’ that is, ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’” Matthew 27:46, ESV

Theme: In Jesus’ darkest moment, He remained faithful.

Today's Scripture: "And they went to a place called Gethsemane. And he said to his disciples, 'Sit here while I pray.'" Mark 14:32, ESV

Theme: When Jesus was facing the most difficult task of His life, He invited His friends into His sorrow and into the strength He gained from His Father.

Today’s Scripture: “And as they were eating, he took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to them, and said, ‘Take; this is my body.’ And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, and they all drank of it.” Mark 14:22-23, ESV

Theme: Jesus served, celebrated, and gave us the Lord’s Supper, to help us remember that He gave His body and blood. 

Today's Scripture: “And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them. But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying out in the temple, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David!’ they were indignant,” Matthew 21:14-15, ESV 

Theme: The legacy of Jesus is an offense to the self-righteous and a beautiful reprieve to those who recognize their need for a Savior.
