Daily Devotions

Today's Scripture: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6, NLT  

Theme: Instead of trying to control all the details, which is both unrealistic and anxiety inducing, trust God.  

Today's Scripture: “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” Matthew 6:34, NLT 

Theme: Rather than focus on the future or the past, depend on God to understand the situation and provide direction.  

Today's Scripture: “For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe. He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing.” Deuteronomy 10:17-18, ESV 

Theme: Compassion and mercy cross cultural and ethnic lines. By your actions, you can show the love of Jesus to someone who is hurting.  

Today's Scripture: “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” Hebrews 11:6, ESV  

Theme: Our faith should be built on the Holy Spirit, seeking God earnestly, desiring to experience God beyond our own wishes.  

Today's Scripture: “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7, ESV  

Theme: It’s tempting to base your faith on circumstances: what you see God doing or not doing in your life. Base your faith on God alone.
